I wouldn’t be here today without the amazing help/support of so many people. I’d like to mention them here with my love and appreciation:
- My family and friends 🙂
- Guthrie Medical
- Memorial Sloan Kettering
- University of Rochester Sports Medicine
- my Corning Incorporated family: all those drive-by thumbs-ups and kind words make a difference! Corning Medical; Corning IT/ WFP/ FS / GEST/ Wisdom at Work: you rock! Corporate Communications – for helping get my messages out to Corning workers and their families.
- my Guthrie Medical Healthworks family: super support on the emotional and physiological level: supporting all my exercise! The Members there are awesome — we’re all helping each other attain our goals!
- Music!
- Corning Area Community Concert Band
- our guest conductor Maestro Anthony Maiello stated that music feeds/heals the soul, but I believe that it also heals the body! And — Rossano Galante, our 2019 Composer for our Scholarship concert: amazing music! A Childhood Remembered, Redemption, Hypnotic Memories
- John Stranges, Scott Kelley, and Tina Matejka: our three CACCB conductors!
- Martin Frost – his music connects to the soul
- Corning Area Community Concert Band
- The ARTS of the Southern Tier. Thank you’s to Connie, the Board and the ARTS Team.
- my Corning Rotary family
- Corporate Angel Network – …the only charitable organization whose sole mission is to transport cancer patients to the hospital that they need to receive a specialized form of treatment.
- Travel Limousine Service – providing transportation connections, including cancer patients coming to New York City for assessment/ treatment.
- Cure, with its publication Curetoday.com filmed the helpful video interviews of Dr. Slovin and me — which were shot by the wonderful team at Video Dimensions.
- Krossin’ Keuka – for their support and coverage of my journey, even handing me the mic when I had just completed the fund-raising swim — so that I could share my health message with the other swimmers and their families!
- Mindfulness: peace/ meditation: Martin Frost music with meditation, David Ellzey
- Tai Chi: through training by Dr. Paul Lam’s institute [the lessons also taught me stretches that are wonderful for running/ swimming].
- Running equipment: special thanks to 3G Cardio treadmills. I needed a tough reliable treadmill, and they build them. My 3G Cardio Elite TM has allowed me to adjust to our current new world [no swimming]. I still run outside, very early in the morning, but my joints need the protection of an excellent treadmill like this unit. I’m an indoor runner too, and my joints are happy now. Also, thanks to Fred and Dustin from Fitness Machine Technicians — they ensured that the 3G was perfectly set up.
